In the shadow of the night

IN THE SHADOW OF THE NIGHT...

I saw her in the shadow of the night
Under a beaming ray of moon light
She sat on a sidewalk
And i knew i should go talk
I looked into her eyes,
And to my surprise..
Her eyes were flooded with tears
I then realized she was one of my dears.
I sat beside her in the dark
It was too silent, not a dog did bark.
She turned around and looked at my face
Immediately got up and left that place.
She went over to a bench in the park
And suddenly i got a lil' spark.
I went and knelt and held her hand
Crept closer to her and..
Looked into her eyes as she looked into mine
She realized who I was and gave a lil' whine
I whispered in her ears, "what's wrong with you?"
she smiled and said, "I just missed you".
